Dental Implants
Dental implants are permanent and popular for people looking to replace missing or damaged teeth. They are titanium posts implanted into the jawbone and act as a replacement for the root of a tooth.
Dental implants are an excellent option for people who have lost teeth due to injury or disease because they provide a stable foundation for replacement teeth.
THE DENTAL IMPLANT PROCESS
If you are a good candidate, we will take an X-ray of your jaw to see where the implant should be placed.
On the day of surgery, we will numb your jaw with anesthesia and then drill a hole where we will insert the implant and secure it with screws.
The implant will take several months to heal and fuse with the jawbone. Once it has healed, the final step will be to place a porcelain crown on top of the implant.
Advantages of Implants
The advantages of dental implants include:
- looking and feeling like natural teeth.
- permanently fixed in place.
- preserving oral health by preventing bone loss.
- being a more affordable long-term solution than other dental procedures such as dental bridges or dentures.
